AS2DMX

In the spring of 2008 Kollision participated in a number of workshops aimed at developing new and innovative products and market areas for Martin Professional. Our focus was specifically to develop new forms of interaction with the products being developed by Martin Professional.

In order to enable users, besides professional lighting designers, to use Martin Professional’s DMX controlled products, Kollision was asked to create an interface between adobe flash and the DMX protocol. The idea of ​​providing access via flash was that many creative designers program graphical user tasks through action scripts. With a simple link between action script and DMX, it would be possible for these people to design e.g. light shows through their preferred interfaces and in an environment they are already familiar with.

Kollision created an interface between action script 3 and DMX-512 and has subsequently produced ​​a number of simple examples, which gives real-time access for users to e.g. control a moving-head light from Martin Professional.
