RESEARCH & CONCEPT
Together with Jette Gejl and Peter Friis-Nielsen, Kollision was commissioned to develop exhibition strategies and concepts building on technological possibilities for the future Ocean House (Havets Hus) in Grenaa, Denmark. The process resulted in a report ‘Ocean House - Exhibition Strategies & Technological Potentials’ describing the future Ocean House as a modern, high-tech experience centre as well as an national attraction for tourists. The starting point is an architectural sketch made by EFFEKT Architects, and the report explores the integration between physical spaces and interactive technologies.
OUR ROLE
In the report we presented three scenarios based on experiments, technological feasibility studies and inspirational projects from around the world. The overall aim was to create engaging and playful learning experiences for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The scenarios were presented in text and graphics, integrating technology, architecture and user experiences.
SCENARIOS
The first scenario places the visitor at the bottom of the sea, allowing visitors to explore life under water through and immersive, projection-based environment. In the second scenario the walls are interactive surfaces presenting various themes all related to the ocean. In the third scenario walls and floors are all part of an immersive, interactive experience – a huge ‘white board’ – where stories and content are created in real-time interaction with the visitors combined with a series of interactive installations.
