In collaboration with Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) we created a special treat for Culture Night 2016 related to DI’s theme, ‘Let’s get Digital’. Using the large media façade on their HQ we invited people passing by the building to take a trip down memory lane, playing paddle tennis against each other. The project is an example of how media architecture can support interaction in public spaces and make our cities more playful.
We created a simple "walk up and use" game based on three iPads embedded in boxes designed with references to old-school arcade games, allowing users to face off against each other in a fast-paced game using the diagonal LED-structure of the building.
Kollision programmed the game as a plugin to our existing player system (read more: DIA LIGHTS) and developed the online multiplayer functionality. We also designed the CNC-milled wooden surfaces, the user interface on the iPads and created the sound design - all of it duly paying homage to classic video games from the seventies.
