TASK
For their project ‘200 Years at School’ Roskilde Libraries asked Kollision to develop three interactive installations, which should be mobile and catch the attention of users in a variety of settings.
THE FURNITURE
The three pieces of interactive furniture are designed with a base of laminated MDF and the glowing tops are made from Lumino. Sensors are embedded in the baseboards, tracking users approaching the furniture and activating the integrated LEDs. 21,5” inch touchscreens are embedded in to the top of each installation. The three pieces of furniture are made to travel and will be used in the coming years for various exhibitions in Roskilde.
OUR ROLE
Kollision designed the furniture, programmed the sensor controlled lights, and provided MapWeb and Mosaic software for two of the installations.
