In 2002, Kollision produced an interactive CD-ROM in connection with the publication of an anthology entitled "Production Methods: Behind the Scenes of Virtual Inhabited 3D Worlds" published by Springer Verlag. The book's articles dealt with a number of Danish research projects concerning environments that mix physical and virtual worlds.
Besides producing the CD-ROM, Kollision had participated in several of the projects mentioned in the anthology through our work in the Virtual Studio at CAVI at the University of Aarhus.
The CD contained accompanying media material for the book's articles. The presentation was made in Macromedia Director and allowed the user to navigate between photos and video clips that support the articles. The structure of the CD gave the authors the opportunity to change and adapt their material, which was then embedded in the structure and presented in a common graphical framework. Kollision designed both graphics and interface to the CD-ROM, which works on Mac and PC platform. Furthermore, we produced a draft of the book cover.
