TRACKING TIME
The Danish National Police (DNP) employs app. 14.000 people, 10.000 of those are actual police officers spending most of their workday patrolling, investigating, transporting or guarding people and installations. As an organisation the DNP needs to keep track of all the hours spent on different tasks to optimise resource allocation, monitor organisational efficiency and ensure quality in general feedback and reporting to the governmental and political domains. Until now, time tracking has been done via a desktop computer, using a proprietary application on the DNP intranet.
THE TASK
To make time tracking easier we were tasked with designing an app, which would allow every employee within the DNP to easily track time on the go. The idea was to make time tracking simpler, more efficient and accurate than the current system allowing employees to save time in their daily work while at the same time providing a more precise overview of hours spent on activities across the entire police force.
OUR ROLE
Kollision wireframed and designed the application based on a design brief developed in collaboration with all branches of the DNP. We produced short movies for proof-of-concept and prototyping purposes, guided user testing and supervised the development process, which was handled by internal developers from the DNP.
