GLOBAL CHALLENGES
A third of all food produced globally is either lost or wasted along the food chain from production to consumption. Roughly, this translates into agricultural crops from an area the size of China. In Denmark, we’ve embarked on a journey with prevention of food waste as a national priority that involves all of society. Our aim is to at least reach UN SDG 12.3: “By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses.”
LOCAL SOLUTIONS
We produced the publication “The Value of Food” to share Danish initiatives to prevent food waste and food loss while promoting Danish knowledge and best practices on the international market. The publication is aimed primarily at international decision makers within both public and private sectors and will be used at trade fairs, delegation visits and public-private export pushes.
