Aarhus Story

The Aarhus Story exhibition at the living history museum Old Town (Den Gamle By) in Aarhus shows the city's chronological development - the Viking Age settlement, the medieval market town, when Aarhus expanded during the industrialization and culminating in the massive growth from the 60s and onward.

Kollision was asked to create two exhibition elements representing the present and involving the visitors more directly. This resulted in the installations ‘Your Dream Aarhus’, allowing visitors to draw their visions for the city and upload them to a ‘Dream Cloud’, and the installation ‘The Aarhusian’ letting visitors test their knowledge about different neighbourhoods of the city.

Kollision designed and implemented the interactive installations, including programming, content creation, graphic design and hardware integration. The physical elements of the installations was designed in collaboration with Den Gamle By.
