SOCIAL HOUSING DAYS IN BELLA CENTRE
Kollision were commissioned to create an exhibition for the conference “Social Housing Days 2014” taking place September 5-6, 2014 in Bella Centre, Copenhagen. The exhibition focused on results of the architectural competition “The Future of Sustainable Social Housing” hosted by the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Affairs and The Danish Architects’ Association.
SOCIAL IS COOL
Social housing plays a key role in the development of Danish architecture. Traditionally, leading architects and visionary builders have created cutting-edge housing, which stands out as unique milestones in the history of Danish architecture. The purpose of the competition “The Future of Sustainable Social Housing” was to get visionary and realistic proposals for low-rise developments in Seest and multi-storey buildings in Lisbjerg, continuing a strong tradition of public housing while pointing towards a new generation of sustainable public housing.
60 PROPOSALS, 7 PURCHASES, 2 WINNERS
The exhibition showcases the 60 proposals, the seven purchased proposals and the two winners from the competition, focusing on social sustainability, community, constructability, housing typologies, sustainable economy and sustainable materials.
OUR ROLE
Kollision designed the layout as well as the content while Lene Mirdal designed the physical exhibition space.
