NEW WAYS OF COMMUNICATING HISTORICAL MATERIAL
Den Digitale Byport (The Digital City Gate) was designed as a direct access to databases and presentations of the Danish urban history with an emphasis on the period 1600-1900. Within this timeframe the idea was to develop new ways of communicating historical material – traditional texts and illustrations – in a more experience-based way making the most of of new digital possibilities.
A GENERALIZED MARKET TOWN
Based on a generalized and typical market town, we designed a dynamic website allowing the users to add comments to the town and help the city grow. At a later stage the project was used to inspire a 3D version of a Danish market town.
OUR ROLE
Kollision was commissioned by The Danish Centre for Urban History to design a functional prototype, which was tested with users in a workshop setup.
