FLOATING FILMS
In 2021 Kollision designed and implemented an interactive video installation for Digital Hub Denmark - a government funded organisation connecting startups, stakeholders, companies and investors within the digital realm across multiple Ecospheres, as they call them. 150 two minute videos were produced showcasing a vast range of Danish tech startups.
AQUARIUM AS A METAPHOR
In an attempt to move away from the conventional video display Kollision used the metaphor of an aquarium to wrap the installation around a corner in the Digital Hub Denmark visitor centre in Copenhagen. Each video is represented by a floating card with a thumbnail from the film. By tracking the eye position of only one visitor, all video cards floating within the aquarium are projection mapped and orient towards the visitor in a correct divine perspective, whereas other visitors will experience a distorted view - animating a playful visualisation of the rules of perspective.
FROM PLAYFUL TO SERIOUS
Through a QR-code hosts and visitors can load a web interface on their smartphone providing access to numerous categories of videos. Selecting a category changes the mode from playful floating films to the serious part - showcasing the Danish tech startups. The installation is designed to have up to 20 people gather around in an informal way watching, discussing and initially establishing contacts. Moments after leaving the sensor range the installation will return to an ambient non-intrusive school of red floating films in a sea of blue.
