Kollision and Martin Professional designed an exhibition for PLDC 2019 (Professional Lighting Design Convention) in Rotterdam using Martin Professional’s architectural light fixtures. We designed a curved space with an illuminated floor, wall and ceiling demonstrating some of the powerful capabilities of our MAP-software. During the conference, the exhibition was used as a shared platform for a number of Martin Professional’s European distributors.

To welcome and engage the visitors entering the exhibition, we tracked their positions and added an interactive halo supplementing the main content. The interactive feature was a playful element engaging the visitors in a dialogue on fixtures, lighting control and design. Kollision and the project partners could also toggle content, tracking and lighting design through launchpads on their mobile phones - allowing for smooth and quick demos onsite.

Kollision designed the exhibition and planned the installation in dialogue with Martin Professional, who implemented the setup at the venue. The dynamic lighting design, tracking, interaction, and content were designed and programmed by Kollision and scheduled and handled by Kollision’s MAP player and launchpad system.
