CHARLOTTENBORG ART EXHIBITION
The project "... Yet the waves reflect" was exhibited in the autumn of 2006 at the Charlottenborg Kunsthal for the prestigious autumn exhibition. The aim of the project was to provide a different angle on a hot topic at the time - global warming. Based on an elevation model of Denmark, we created a three dimensional world where users were able to move an avatar, Kaptain okay, through a scale model of Denmark and choose to let the water rise up to 12 meters in intervals of 3 meters.
SCENARIOS
Around the map of Denmark, users could search for scenarios describing the impact of the selected sea level rise in the form of real estate ads, depicting attractive rooms at the refugee ferry ‘Kronborg’ or gated communities for the very wealthy at Yding Skovhøj, guarded by private security companies. The project was favourably reviewed in the press and subsequently nominated for the INDEX AWARD.
COLLABORATION
The project was realised in collaboration with Centre for Advanced Visualization and Interaction (CAVI), Aarhus University, and COWI.
