ØRESTAD MINECRAFT-STYLE
Is it possible to create the house of your dreams or recreate famous landmark buildings from Ørestaden using only Minecraft blocks? If you’re between 6-15 years old, the answer is YES! Kollision, together with the Library of Ørestad and CPH City & Port, hosted a creative competition for kids and youngsters. The purpose of the competition was to release the creative powers hidden in Minecraft-gamers and have them create beautifully crafted buildings, which could put a new perspective on the architecture of Ørestaden.
THE WINNERS
In the category ‘Dreamhouse’ for children between the ages of 0-9, six-year-old Yi Han, who built a house shaped like a giant dog, won the competition. In the same category, but for youngsters between 10-15, 12-year-old Benjamin won. He created a building, rising from the ground like a futuristic flower. In the category ‘Existing Building’, eight-year-old Marcus won with his recreation of the Hotel Bella Sky by 3XN. Ten-year-old Severin won in his age group with a detailed recreation of BIG’s apartment-block shaped in the figure of the number 8. OUR ROLE
Kollision created the concept of the competition in cooperation with the staff at the library. The cooperation included designing the process and creating the graphics for the invitation as well as ads for newspapers. We, at Kollision, were also represented in the jury. All the creative contributions are going to be shown on the large Mosaic-screens designed and programmed by Kollision for Ørestad Library.
