ANHOLT OFFSHORE WIND FARM
On 25th of June 2012 the exhibition ‘A Powerplant at Sea’ was opened in Grenaa. The purpose of the exhibition is to inform visitors about the project and provide them with the opportunity to know more about the complex task of constructing and operating one of Europe's largest offshore wind farms, which is being built off the coast between the island of Anholt and the town of Grenaa in Jutland, Denmark.
THE SETUP
The exhibition is placed in the Nautilius room at the Kattegat Centre and consists of twelve interactive installations, each with a touch screen embedded horizontally into a box. The individual screens are seen as one background screen representing the project area between Anholt and Grenaa. In the background the large screen can play videos, show pictures and track vessels in the area in real-time. On each individual screen various aspects of the project is presented, e.g. the political process behind the wind farm, details about the vessels used during construction, an explanation of how wind is turned into electrical power, a detailed description of the wind turbines – and much more.
OUR ROLE
Kollision handled every aspect of the project, from designing the exhibition space, programming the system controlling the twelve installations, to producing the content for each of the twelve boxes in collaboration with the project partners. The exhibition about the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm was the result of a collaboration between DONG Energy, Siemens Wind Power, A2SEA, Norddjurs Municipality, Destination Djursland & the Ocean Centre Denmark.
