Terrace Mount Bournemouth

The Terrace Mount development is a mix of two Hotels, 15 luxury penthouse apartments and more than 200 parking spaces, all in the center of Bournemouth, UK. The project has been developed in collaboration between Hilton and THAT Group. This modern landmark has high quality accommodation including 120 hotel bedrooms, restaurant, café, bar space and even an expressive LED screen experience integrated in the carefully planned landscape design.

In relation to a busy staircase connecting different levels in the surroundings an area of about 12 meters in length and more than 2 meters in height is used for communicating with the by-passers. Multiple areas of integrated LEDs are almost carved into the materials and tiles of the building; a scattered but at the same time coherent screen expression that can be used to display all kinds of content.

Kollision was commissioned by Martin Professional to challenge the layout of the LED experience by inspiring and designing new ways of thinking the LED layout and create an artistic but still communicative and functional experience. Photos by Leif Orkelbog-Andresen.
