THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
The Wasteland Lilleaker exhibition is part of an extensive analysis of the urban area Lilleaker that Lendager Group carried out for the Norwegian developer Mustad Eiendom. The exhibition unfolds the story and potential of the existing resources present in the current building mass of Lilleaker. By displaying the diverse and vast amounts of materials and showing how these could be integrated into new construction, the exhibition presents both the economic rationality and the aesthetic potentials of a circular economy.
PROJECTING ON WASTE
As part of the Wasteland exhibition Kollision was asked to develop a visual story projected onto a 140x140 cm physical model of Lilleakerbyen built from waste materials. In collaboration with Lendager Group, we designed a storyline utilising the city model as a visual diagram and additionally a flat wooden surface for displaying simple fact-based infographics. By constructing a digital twin of the physical model and obtaining precise information of the projector in use, we could test the visuals and infographics in 3D and make sure that the projected story and the physical model matched correctly - bringing the story about the layers of the circular economy to life in a novel and eye-catching way.
OUR ROLE
Based on numerous storyboards, Kollision developed a set of icons and visual principles helping to tell the main story of the circular potential of Lilleakerbyen. We developed all visuals & animations, specified projector & lens, while also handling projection mapping and providing a scheduled player running the installation for six months.
