The Luminous Future of our Cities - How technology is changing our cities, urban spaces, and buildings

In this paper we discuss the future of our cities, buildings, and urban spaces when inexpensive, energy-efficient, and controllable LEDs allows us to realize Lefebvre’s vision of the city as a constantly changing work of art. Through case stories we discuss how new technologies are playing an active role in the realization of the luminous future of our cities and how Media Architecture can make our cities safer, smarter, and more liveable.
